Forging the Future of Fitness – CrossFit Kids

CrossFit Kids is a comprehensive strength and conditioning program that combines gymnastics, body-weight calisthenics, and weightlifting elements. FallOut CrossFit offers this template of randomized, functional exercises, performed at a high intensity. The ten general physical skills (cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, power, speed, flexibility, agility, accuracy, balance, coordination) that are incorporated in every aspect of physical activity are the foundation of a CrossFit workout. Children and teens have a great opportunity to maximize their physical skills when exposed to these elements during the peak years of development.
The need for early intervention is extreme. Today’s humans in developed countries do not physically operate at the level of which they were intended. The U.S. is experiencing an unprecedented epidemic of childhood obesity-an increase of 35% in the past 10 years. Today’s children now are at risk of becoming the first generation of Americans to have a shorter life expectancy than that of their parents, due to obesity-related heart disease and diabetes. If the excess weight is carried throughout a child’s lifetime, it can lead to high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and premature death. Additionally, more than ever, are the instances of children being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. The only way our society can reverse this degeneration is to plan and execute physically functional movements.
CrossFit Kids is used by many young athletes and athletic teams throughout our nation. Offering this program to young, aspiring athletes will result in powerful athletes, giving them a competitive edge. It is that simple.
