Least Favorite WOD: Nothing in CF has been easy or natural for me,so my least favorite things have changed over and over again. I’ve gotten over my total hate of running, now to conquer my fear of jumping on a box!!
Tell us about you sports & fitness background: My sports background consists of sitting on the bench watching my girls in whatever they were doing. I would not consider myself athletic or competive in any way. Although, I have always kept active, working out at a gym or at some points in my life just walking.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? One of my friends, (who just happens to be Jason Krone’s sister) kept telling me about crossfit and how much he and Jo liked the gym. Then I found out our daughter Lindsay, and Cody her husband, belonged to a gym in the Seattle area and loved it, so I decided to give it a try. Yes, we try to keep it confusing in our family by having 2 daughters with the same name!!
Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel? It’s been so long since my first WOD I don’t remember what is was, although I do remember taking my first baseline with Ben and not being able to walk for about 3 days!! Oh my, such pain!!
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF (before/after)? I’m much stronger than I have ever been, I don’t get as sore as I did in the beginning and I’m sure my overall health has improved.
What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected? I know I can push myself or in some cases be pushed further than I every thought possible!!
Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / FOCF moments: I really enjoy walking into the gym and seeing the people who have become our friends, working out together and sharing in the pain!! Love the feeling of accomplishment when we are finished!
Any advice for people just getting started? Just stick with it, we all have been at the beginning of our crossfit journey…we feel your pain, but it is worth it!
What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit? Love being with our family, hanging out with my husband, traveling, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking is one of my favorite things to do.
