Running Injuries
So with all this new fancy running shoe technology that has come about, how come running injuries are at an all time high? It is estimated that 80% of runners are currently injured or have suffered from/with a running injury. Seems a bit odd doesn’t it! The modern running shoes didn’t develop over millions of years like the human foot has, infact, they’ve really only been around since the 70s. A lot has been said about barefoot running lately, but it’s really nothing more than running with proper mechanics. Try taking a few strides barefoot, you’ll find that running heel to toe becomes almost impossible. When you use proper running technique you use nature’s natural shock absorption & whether this is done with or without shoes you’ll find that you can run and be injury free for the first time in a long time. But before you run out the door without your shoes on, it takes time to learn these new techniques. This is a good resource also for the inquiring barefoot runner, this FREE e-book written by the creator of the VivoBarefoot Coaches Course, Lee Saxby.
