Handling Stress
Stress…I’m sure some people had some over the holidays. As the number of anti anxiety medications being dispensed surely increase over the holiday season. Andrew Bernstein, author of The Myth of Stress discusses stress in a CrossFit Journal video. Stress is generally defined as “a response to adverse external influences.” But what if we began to think about stress differently and focused on how we responded to the external influence instead of the external influence it self. “Stress doesn’t come from things. Stress doesn’t come from what’s going on in your life. It comes from your thoughts about what’s going on in your life, and that’s a huge change,” Bernstein says. Something to think about! I get enough stress from my workouts I don’t need any more of it. How do you handle stressful situations?
