Hometown: Yakima Wa

Age: 27

When did you first start training at FOCF?: I first started training with FallOut in the beginning of March of this year.

Favorite WOD: Haha I am not sure that I have one, none are very fun when doing them but feel sooo good when done.

Least favorite WOD: Can’t remember what it is called, but we had a partner and had to do 300 squats with medicine ball and then run a 400m. 25 squats at a time.

Tell us about your sports and fitness background: I have always been about fitness, I grew up playing volleyball and I have played for 12 years, indoor and outdoor. Now I will do anything and everything that gets me outside and burn calories whatever that entails.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit?: I have a friend that does CrossFit in Yakima and I kept watching his progress on line and on Facebook and at that point of my life I had hit a huge lull and needed something, I researched the ones in tri cities and FallOut just was it.

Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel:

15 burpees 1 kettle bell swing

14 burpees 2 kettle bell swing

13 burpees 3 kettle bell swing….

So on… It was probably the hardest thing I had ever done, felt light headed, wanted to throw up and wanted to quit. But when I was done I have not felt that good in a long time!

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF (before/after)?: Before I stated CrossFit I weighed 175 and was really full of fat on my body, everything very loose and trying to do anything to physical was rough, really out of shape. I have been doing CrossFit for 5 months and my body is so much tighter, stronger, I have endurance to run which I have not had since I was in high school. Health wise I am a lot more conscious about what I eat and how much I eat, and how much water I drink as well.

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected? Some things that CrossFit has done for me is given me a better relationship with my boyfriend, we go to CrossFit together and it has made something for me to look forward to and to have a mutual thing that we can do together. I also have found that I am willing to push myself past limits that I never would have done before on my own. I know that something is working because I have been sore for 5 months straight, muscle confusion, no joke!

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / FOCF moments: I put a lot of thanks in Matt out trainer he is amazing at pushing us, and I get super pissed sometimes, but I am thankful for him and would not want to go anywhere else.

Any advice for people just getting started?: My advice to anyone that is thinking about joining, do it!!! It’s the best thing that I have done and given me so much more confidence in myself. It’s worth using that feeling every time you leave.

What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit? I love to golf and be in the sun. Those are my hobbies!

Have your say
