Rev UP Your Metobolism!

I’m sure many of you have heard the idea that if you want to loose weight them you have to eat 6 meals a day, but no more then you normally would. Well a recentlty well done study by the The British Journal of Nutrition found that if your calorie intake at the end of the day is the same then metabolism at the end of the day stays the same as well. Other studies have found similar results, see here. For more reliable weight loss and weight loss that will stick around most research shows that excerise is the only true way to increase metabolism. The Department of Human and Health Sciences, University of Westminster, London in 2006 published a study that further shows exercise is the right path to increased metabolism, see here. Why is this the case? Because muscle doesn’t just sit there like fat does. It needs energy to exist, roughly 50-70 calories per day for every pound of new muscle. So if you can put on 10lbs of muscle thats an extra 500-700 calories burned daily just by having it. Want to read more about this check out Dr. Mercola’s article on this subject.
