Drop Kick your Wii

Posted by mblarkin on November 25, 2009

Let me tell you all how much I missed you guys. Don’t get me wrong I loved my vacation, saw some great friends and learned tons, but it is good to be back and see everyone! Thanks to everyone that held down the fort: “The Matt’s”, Joey, Trevor, & Tammy. You guys are the best! First WOD back and it was a good one.

What is this thing!? Does anyone think that this will make any body fitter? In a state who’s percentage of obesity is >25% and across the whole country in 2008, only one state (Colorado) had a prevalence of obesity less than 20%. (CDC.gov) This is not the answer to the problem that this country has gotten it’s self into. This will only get you from sitting on the couch watching TV to stand in front of it and bouncing around a foot pad. Working out is suppose to be HARD, this is why its called WORKing out. If it was easy we would all be in shape, especially if it came nicely place under a Christmas tree by Santa. So do me a favor, if you have one of these ridiculous contraptions or you have a friend who does, go get your money back. If that is not an option, pick it up & Drop Kick your Wii :) You will feel better I promise!

WOD: Max Effort Pullups 5 rounds

This is scary stuff people!

Always Come Prepared

Posted by mblarkin on November 23, 2009

You never know what the WOD will bring just as you never know what the weather will bring. The morning classes enjoyed mild temperatures for their 800 meter runs but the weather decided to take a downturn for the evening classes. Rainy skies hovered around the gym and the question was asked, “Are we running in this?” The answer, “YES!” But, a lucky streak hit and the skies parted leaving a quick window to get the workout done without getting rained on. So, moral of the story, always come prepared to the gym. Workouts won’t change just because the weather isn’t ideal, so be sure to bring clothes that reflect the conditions.

P.S. It’s so nice to run a 800 meter without having to do the 400 meter mark twice, THANKS Jesse!
